Juniors Win Team Relay at Erg Rodeo 2011

The Austin Rowing Club Juniors program is dedicated to teaching the sport of rowing to 6th-12th grade students. The program is open to all students in Austin and surrounding areas. No previous rowing experience is necessary and we offer a variety of programs to fit your schedule. PE credit is available for the competitive program.

Rowing is the ultimate team sport. It takes every athlete to make a boat go fast. Working in unison to glide along the water in a sleek Olympic rowing shell is like no other experience in sport.

Rowing teaches life lessons in self-discipline, motivation, confidence, perseverance, goal setting, time management and the rewards of hard work. The program stresses healthy living through physical fitness, nutrition and good habits.

The ARC Junior competitive program competes at the regional, state, and national levels. In fact, the ARC Juniors have won more State and National Championships than any other team in Texas.

Many of the top universities in America have varsity rowing teams that recruit high school rowers. Athletes from ARC have gone on to row at Harvard, Dartmouth, Penn, Duke, the University of Texas and UCLA -- just to name a few.

"Collegiate rowing opportunities for high school junior girls have skyrocketed due to the rapid growth of collegiate women's rowing in the US." - Carie Graves, Head Coach, The University of Texas Women's Rowing

"Stanford Rowing believes strongly in the student-athlete at all levels. It is our desire to encourage, uphold and support the sport of rowing in Texas and the nation." - Craig Amerkhanian, Head Coach, Stanford University Men's Rowing

Austin Rowing Club is the only non-profit rowing club in Austin and the only rowing club chartered by the State of Texas. ARC annually hosts the Texas Junior State Championships, the premier high school regatta in Texas.
