Kelli Garrett - Secretary

Carmen Garufo - Facilities Director
Jack Graham – Outreach Director
Jack rows for ARC’s Club Crews, once known as “recreational crews.” He learned to row in 1999 at Texas Rowing Center when then-owner Anne Marie gave some friends a deal on 4 group lessons for $35. Jack came to ARC seven years ago when a friend suggested joining a group that was rowing eights. (At the time, TRC didn't have any eight man shells) Jack as rowed with “Motley Crew,” "Rojos," "Dawn Patrol" and "Oarbits" and counts rowing with another Club Crew, the “Rowtinis,” as a highlight of his time at ARC. The Rowtinis won the Dan Merrick Cup for 3 straight years, and were a perpetual contender at the Heart of Texas Regatta in the Masters Mixed Eight. Hence, there’s nothing “recreational” about some of the ARC Club Crews!
Outside of rowing, Jack is a retired marathon runner, (he ran the Boston Marathon) and retired after 40 years as a patent attorney. He has worked for General Motors, Texas Instruments, Shell, several law firms, and his own practice. Among his achievements as a lawyer, Graham prosecuted patents for Jack Kilby, winner of the Nobel Prize in physics for inventing the integrated circuit (the “computer chip”).
Along with volunteering on the ARC Board, Jack helps teach several of ARC’s rowing programs, including Intro To Rowing, and the Novice Rowing Program for recent ITR graduates. Most recently, Jack has pioneered in offering the Row Free program for Austin area nonprofits. Jack is also a hike leader with Austin Sierra Club.
Camille Jobe - President
Camille Jobe learned to row in Boston on the Charles river while a student at Boston University. Coming from Corpus Christi, TX, Camille felt like the luckiest person alive to be out with her crew in the northeast everyday. And she still gets that feeling rowing with the women's competitive crew here in Austin. "It is truly a privilege." says Jobe. "I love it because of that feeling you get when you are giving your personal all, and then feel the power of the whole crew behind your effort as you completely sync up. That's the incredible feeling of flying."
Jobe's 2 favorite rowing accomplishments would be the first time the ARC 8+ medaled at the head of the Charles (you should have been there for the celebrating later that night!) and the year she was in the 8+ that won the Hudson cup at the San Diego Crew Classic. "Both times, the team trained hard, rowed well and pushed to be better than they thought they could be."
In Camille's non-rowing life, she is an architect with a small practice in commercial and residential design. Jobe is active with Leadership Austin and the Junior League of Austin. She gives credit to her two boys that keep her laughing and her fabulous husband for making it possible for her to do all that she does.
Jobe has served as ARC secretary, vice-president and now as president. Jobe says, "I do this voluntarily because I really do love it...even when things are not going smoothly. This organization is a living organism that changes and grows daily. Being part of how that change happens is very exciting, especially lately. I am grateful to be given the opportunity to be a part of a place that is so important to so many people."
Robert Johnson - Equipment Director (and Equipment Committee chairman)
Rob Johnson was introduced to the sport of rowing through the participation of his son, a member of the ARC Junior Program. Rob completed the Intro to Rowing Course at ARC in May of 2009 and is now seen almost daily down at the docks. "It’s an incurable addiction and it’s good for me" says Rob of his rowing experience. His favorite moment so far has been competing in the father-son double at ARC's Head of the Colorado Regatta. Outside of rowing, Rob works as an IT Project Manager in software development.
